Today, Apapa’s Main Magistrate’s Court provided a pledge of 50,000 Norwegian dollars to a sex worker who was identified as Favor Eze, accused of stealing her colleague in the amount of 80,000 US dollars.

Accused, 28 years old, lives in the Apapa area of Lagos. Chief Justice Michael Olubi provided her with a deposit with two guarantors in the same amount. Olubi postponed consideration of the case until January 30.

Previously, the prosecutor, Inspection. Ferdinand Asu told the court that the accused committed the crime on January 6 at the Roland Hotel, Apapa, Lagos. The prosecutor said that the applicant, Ogechi Ez, accused Ez of entering her hotel room in order to steal the said amount stored in the box.

“The complainant said that the defendants and two others were sitting with her in the hotel’s bar when she suddenly discovered that the key to her room was missing. Unknown to the applicant, Ez secretly walked behind her back to steal the money she kept in the room.

When they arrived, the applicant discovered that the money she kept in the box was not enough. The complainant, unfortunately, told the accused that she left her phone on the bed after stealing money, ”said Asu.

The prosecutor told the court that the applicant had reported this to the police, and the accused was arrested. He said that the crime was contrary to article 287 of the 2015 Lagos Criminal Law, which provides a three-year prison term for any offender if he is found guilty.

Eze, however, denied having committed the crime when the charge was read to her.
