The wife of the former vice president and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Titi, was attacked on Friday evening by suspected political thugs in the home of Sarkin Sasa in Oyoo Ibadan, Oyo state.
Ms. Abubakar arrived in the city two days ago to enlist the support of her husband’s presidential proposal.
The witness told our correspondent that she had a fruitful discussion with Sarkin Sasa and the house community in the area when hooligans attacked her convoy.
It is said that some of the supporters in the convoy were injured in the attack.
The leader of the NDP in the state of Alhaji Bisi Olopopenia confirmed this to our correspondent, but said that the party was investigating an attack on innocent visitors.
He said that there were hints that the attackers demanded money from visitors, and after they were allegedly given, some of them still continued to stir up trouble.
