Concerned Nigerian Deji Adeijanju, who has just regained his freedom, told President Muhammad Bukhari to prepare for the next four years of activism.
Speaking on Saturday in Abuja, during a meeting with family and friends, he described his detention as “vitamin C, which was again nourished and renewed,” reports Sahara Reporters.
He vowed that he would continue to participate in maintaining the responsibility of the government and constantly tell the truth.
“For me, I’m convinced that when you close an activist in prison, you just give him vitamin C so you can refresh him.” So I entered, I refreshed, I recovered, so the government must prepare for the next four years of activity, “added Deji.
Some of the subtitles on the posters were: “Extraordinary activist”; “Welcome, our hero”; “Become Stronger Deji Adeyanju”; “Welcome back to Aluta Continua.”
He wondered why the government chose him for persecution without good reason, and thanked President Mohammed Bukhari for making him popular during his time.
The activist said his detention further prompted him to be more focused, loyal and cheerful, adding that he would continue to reveal all forms of injustice, propaganda and lies by the government, regardless of intimidation and harassment.
He said that he was not afraid of being arrested by the government again, noting that he would not stop fighting and would tell the truth, and that he knows best. He, however, refuted the insinuations that opposition parties had used it.
“If this is the NDP, we will continue to criticize, but if they do not want to be criticized, they should leave and go to Daura.” If they are at the top, they should prepare for criticism, “he said.
Adeyanju was released on bail by Kano last week after he spent more than two months in prison after being arrested by the police in a murder case, which he had acquitted of since Kano’s trial in 2009.
